Mitchell Takeda (he/him) is a proud Asian performer from Sacramento, California. He is currently in Indiana, earning a BFA in musical theatre at Ball State University, and he has been learning more and more about the art form that he fell in love with ever since the age of thirteen. Dancing and music has always played a large role in his life – it only then became a larger part when he enrolled in his first theatre class in 8th grade. Since then, he has been seen in roles such as Donkey (Shrek: The Musical), Bill Calhoun (Kiss Me, Kate), and, most recently, Squidward (SpongeBob SquarePants).

Mitchell enjoys being in projects that involve heavy collaboration between artists and the creative team, and he finds that shows that include deep themes and conversations throughout the production process tend to inspire him as a person and an artist. He has had beautiful opportunities to be involved with several original productions – Change: The Musical (lead ensemble) and Gilgamesh: K-12 – and he has worked on a show in which collaboration between artists and director played a heavy role in the production – Valley of the Four Dolls (Father and Dr. John).

If Mitchell is not on stage or in the rehearsal space, you can find him listening to music or dancing in his room when he finds a moment to himself. Although singing and dancing is his job, it is also his passion and it is what keeps him inspired and ready to play when he has the opportunity to work on a new project. Besides singing and dancing, Mitchell's hobbies include reading, going on nature walks, and enjoying quality time with his friends and family.
